Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet release Monopoly
Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét release a video along their extremely-teased, “Monopoly.”
Ariana Grande teamed up once again with someone from her close circle, bff Victoria Monét, and released the track they’ve been teasing online for a while now; “Monopoly.” Both ladies are having very busy times especially with Ariana being in the middle of a tour but that didn’t stop them from making a video for the track and it’s rich.
The girls recruit internet sensation Donté Colley, a.k.a, motivational dancing guy, who took the internet by storm a few months ago. Ariana and Victoria employ his style in their Alfredo Flores x Ricky Alvarez directed visual, pushing away “bad vibes,” “fuckery,” “Trump” etc.. and adding emojies to the visual. It’s basically an internet-produced video.
The track is filled with things to discuss; firstly, it had people questioning whether Ariana was coming out as bisexual since she sings “I like women and men” (Victoria came out as bisexual last year). Secondly, it addresses the whole thing with Republic Records forfeiting 90 percent of “7 Rings” songwriting royalties to the estate of Rodgers and Hammerstein for “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music. Ariana literally flicks Julie Andrews’ Maria while singing “Even though we gave up that 90 percent for the win.” SAVAGE!
Look out for more in the track and video and let us know what you discover in the super rich “Monopoly.”
