Ariana Grande released 7 Rings. That’s it.
We’ve been in countdown mode for “7 Rings” since Ariana started teasing it and now, it is finally upon us!
Ari released the video on Friday, January 18 and within 7 hours, it had already hit more than half a million views.
“7 Rings” launches with Ariana and her friends all decked in everything sparkly (diamonds) and pink as the singer kicks off the track with a Sound of Music reference by listing all her favorite things, which include diamonds, bubbly, and breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The Hannah Lux Davis directed visual has Ari between her girlfriends and the more you watch and listen the more you get a Rihanna-meets-Nicki-Minaj vibe.
The visual and track are basically Ariana stating that life has made her savage and on her insistence on making herself happy through retail therapy as summarized in the chorus “I want it, I got it, I want it, I got it (Yeah).”
As for the 7 Rings nomenclature of the track, it refers to her splurging on her friends as well as herself without thinking about romance.
“7 Rings” is part of Grande’s fifth studio LP Thank You, Next which is simmering as she prepares to headline Coachella in April with Childish Gambino and Tame Impala.
