Eminem falls from a building for the Fall visual
Eminem kept running from his demons but they ended up consuming him the video for “Fall.”
Just a few days after releasing his surprise album, KAMIKAZE, Eminem dropped the video for the album’s most controversial track “Fall.”
The visual kicks off with Eminem in shotgun seat in a car and we see getting worked up as he keeps getting notifications about people not liking his previous album Revival and wanting the old Eminem, Slim Shady, back instead.
Eminem gets supper fed up with the negative reception of the album and leaves the car to wander the street leaving his friends surprised. The rapper roams the streets looking at people looking at negative articles about the album before he realizes that a dark spirit/shadow has climbed up from the internet and is now following him. He tries to escape through buildings, walls but reaches a moment of surrender at the end where he lets the spirit consume him. The video ends with Eminem jumping and apparently falling on his face. It’s then revealed that he landed on his feet and is ready for something…
The “Fall” plot may not be over as this is only the first video from KAMIKAZE and if Eminem is keeping the same pace, we should expect a new video by next week.
“Fall” received backlash online due to the rapper’s use of a homophobic slur to call Tyler, the Creator, which led to Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, who is featured on the track, to distance himself from the song posting on Twitter that he is “not a fan of the message, it’s tired.”
“This is not the time to criticize youth, it’s the time to listen. To act. It is certainly not the time for slurs.”
“Fall” is the tenth track of KAMIKAZE, which dropped out of nowhere on August 31.
