Sean Kingston discusses new music & more on The Drive

Sean Kingston dropped by The Drive with Zaina and Boudy.

Sean Kingston was in Lebanon last week for an amazing night at Arch Beirut where he set the crowd ablaze. The following day, he dropped by our studios for a chat with Zaina and Boudy on the Drive. Accompanied by Jack Sleiman, the singer couldn’t remember how he met the producer but insists on how close they’ve gotten over the years and how excited he is to be working on music together along with the events. Sean also gave a shoutout to the Lebanese crowd whose energy keeps him wanting for more.

After discussing the main event from the previous night, Sean talked about his new music and upcoming album with Zaina and Boudy. What can we expect?

Made in Jamaica is more of an EP more than it is an album with 7 songs that are all original Sean Kingston sound with a melodic, catchy twist as the artist put it. He was more excited to talk about the very close release of the first 3 songs and he mentioned some amazing artists featured on the album. “Trendsetter” got a first mention and he then talked about “Kryptonite” featuring Nigerian star Davido and Canadian rapper Tori Lanez and last but not least, “Action” featuring Tinashe and maybe Stefflon Don who is listed as part of the album.

Boudy was curious to know about the general mood of the EP, which Sean set as

“original Sean Kingston sound but it’s next level so it’s basically reggae and pop influence but very very very very very diverse as far as melodic structures go.”

The obvious question was ‘where has Sean been in the past few years’ to which the artist explained how he has been collecting himself and spending some time with his family in Jamaica, New York and Miami insisting how important that is for an artist.

We honestly can’t be more excited to hear all of the tracks because as Zaina put it, we grew up listening to Sean Kingston and it’s great that he’s finally back on the scene.
