The tracks that summed up summer 2018
Summer of the year 2018 bestowed on us some fresh beats and good music.
We almost all have music blasting during most of our day and these tracks were everywhere. If you were stuck in traffic they played on the radio; if you were partying they would be blasted at the club making you dance your shoes off. Some were part of our favorite movies, others became internet sensations or sent some heavy duty messages. So we decided to make a list of our favorite six summer bops.
- All The Stars – Kendrick Lamar & SZA
We’re still listening and fangirling over the Black Panther banger. Kendrick Lamar and SZA gave us one of the dreamiest tracks and let’s not forget the aesthetics of the music video which add a regal flair to the track making us love it even more.
- I Like It – Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J. Balvin
Whether you’re a Cardi B fan or not, you can’t deny the fact that you sang this somewhere at some point. This track played literally everywhere; during an Uber ride, at clubs, at the supermarket… It’s okay if you want to call it your little guilty pleasure track.
- Apeshit – The Carters
You thought that they reached the peak of their career? Well, think twice. Beyonce and Jay-Z, The Carters, have teamed up to work on an entire album together. That’s not all. They also booked the whole Louvres museum to shoot the music video for “Apeshit.” Iconic! Right, right?
- No Tears Left To Cry – Ariana Grande
There is something about this song that makes you wanna lose it for the night, grab the person next to you and just make out. Period.
- This Is America – Childish Gambino
A rant over the country’s violence and racism. It couldn’t have been portrayed in any better way. Also, why is it so catchy? We really can’t get this one out of our heads.
- In My Feelings — Drake
You really didn’t think we would leave this one out! No matter how many times you might have heard it between actual music outlets or seen the video challenges enough times to make you hate it, we can’t deny that this song was actually next level! Last summer, Drizzy gave us “One Dance” and this past summer we got “In My Feelings.” I wonder what he’s planning for summer 2019! Whatever it is, I can’t wait for it to drop, listen to it a billion times and then hate it for a few days.
This was our list, if you think we missed any tracks from summer 2018, drop us a comment and we may add it to the list!
If you have other ideas, lists, or music you like to share with us and the world, send it to us on [email protected] and we’ll feature it!
